Week of April 25-29

American Literature: We are reading The Testament by John Grisham. Because this is a longer novel, there will be two tests--a test over the first 19 chapters, and another test over the whole book. The first unit test will be coming up next Monday, so keep this in mind as you read this week.

Homework:

Monday: Read chapters 12-13
Tuesday: Read chapters 14-16
Wednesday: Read chapters 17-19
Thursday-Friday: study for test Monday

World Literature: We are finishing up a unit of war literature; the unit test is on Wednesday, and after that, we will move to a different part of the world and begin studying the conditions of apartheid South Africa in preparation for our final novel unit of the school year.

Monday-Tuesday: study guide
Wednesday: TBA

World History: After the unit test over chapters 23-24 (Tuesday), we will immediately begin studying WWI and the causes that led to it.

Tuesday: test
Wednesday: Read 620-626. Take notes (one page). Maps.
Thursday: maps due tomorrow
Friday: Read 627-637. Notes.

Gospel of John:
This week, we will be studying John chapters 11-13. In these chapters, the events we will study (Jesus' raising Lazarus from the dead, the triumphal entry, the Last Supper) are beginning to lead up to Jesus' eventual crucifixion and resurrection. The first unit test for this quarter will be on Monday.

Homework:

Monday: p. 127-133 #1-10. Read and summarize “Study Skill-Hebrew thought” on p. 134-135
Tuesday: pp. 134-136 #11-18
Thursday: pp. 139-144 #1-11. Read and summarize p. 146 in a paragraph
Friday: study guide
