American Literature: This week, we are beginning a unit on F. Scott Fitzgerald's masterpiece, The Great Gatsby.
Homework:
Monday: Read chapter 1 and write a paragraph summary/response
Tuesday: Read chapter 2; worksheet
Wednesday: Read chapter 3 pp. 43-55; character sheets for Tom and Daisy
Thursday: Complete G.U.M. pp. 58-60; finish reading chapter 3; character sheet for Myrtle
Friday: Read chapter 4 pp. 65-79; character sheet for Nick
World Literature: We are beginning this week with a unit test over poetry and Arthurian literature; after that, we will begin The Hiding Place, a true account of Corrie Ten Boom's experiences during WWII.
Homework:
Monday: no homework; optional extra credit assignment is to write a sonnet by Friday.
Tuesday: Read pp. 1-8. Written response: What do you think you would do if you were living in Holland during this time period?
Wednesday: Read pp. 8-16.
Thursday: Read chapter 2
Friday; Read chapter 3
World History: We will spend this week working on the research paper in class. Make sure to bring all of your work on the research paper (sources, notes, drafting) every day so that you have something to work on and can make the best use of your time.
Homework:
Monday: 4 sources (write information for your sources in MLA format) and 1 page of notes in any format
Tuesday: Thesis and first page of the rough draft
Wednesday: additional two pages of the rough draft are due (total of 3 pages)
Thursday: entire rough draft due tomorrow (five pages total)
Friday: final draft due Monday

Monday: Read pp. 44-45. Answer questions 6-13. Write a news report about one of the two events in John chapter 2 (one page, due Wednesday)
