  1. hey ms. fontenot this is crystal and i guess we have to do our homework on here.......

This week, from Wednesday, Sept. 29 to Friday, Oct. 1 was high school camp at Tokashiki Island. It was pretty cool. On Wednesday, we rode a ferry to get there. Once we got to where we would be staying, we had orientation, ate lunch, got settled, then had some class competitions. The junior class actually won something, which is pretty surprising. On the second day, we went to the beach. We had to hike to get there. Up hill, and down hill the whole time. 7.1 kilometers is kind of long. I was in the medium speed group, but we weren't too far behind the fast group.

Once we got to the beach, we had chapel, then lunch, then another orientation. Then, we had a sand castle competition. The junior class made it look as if an octopus fell on top of the castle. After that, we finally got to swim, yay. After swimming, we cleaned, then went back to where we were staying. That night, we had a campfire and s'mores. On the third day, most of the junior class got up early to watch the sunrise, but it was a little cloudy so we didn't fully get to see the sunrise. Then, we basically cleaned the rest of the day. For the last chapel, we had a discussion type thing and some people cried. A lot of people had a message for the seniors. Then, we rode the ferry back to Okinawa. Over all, camp was fun.

  2. Hello Ms. Fontenot. This is Ama Shima. :)
I dont like the idea of my name being released online for privacy reasons but I hope you can guess from my name. So here's my homework.

High School camp was from September 29, Wednesday till October 1, Friday. The camp was at Tokashiki Island, a 2 hour ship ride to the west of Okinawa. This year was my third year to go to camp and it made me sad to think that I only have one more camp till I graduate High School. When we got there, we were forced to carry our stuff upstairs for orientation, then we had lunch at the gym. My group sat in the middle of the gym and we did a bit of introducing. That was fun. After we finished eating we carried our stuff to the dorm. Our room was located on the first floor, right next to the lobby.
Then we had our class competition. The first game was a socks version of capture the flag. We used socks to attack people. I don't know who one in that game, for it was really confusing. The people who was out kept on coming back, we didn't have a official start for the game, it just began, but I guess it was fun except for the sun. The other game was a memory verse hunt, and our class won!! Woot woot! We had free time then dinner for that day. The next day, we hiked to the beach, sand castles competition, devotions, and swam at the beach. Our sand castle was a octopus that landed on top of a castle with a baby octopus. I think it was really creative. That night, we ate smo'res, listened to Mr. Mark's preaching which was a really good one, and just had fun. Something I enjoyed the most was when my friends and I built a building with tatami mats in the game room. So camp was fun overall.

  3. Hey Mrs. Fontenot, this is N.R.
I do hope you enjoyed the camp this year, it was pretty fun. Anyway, as for the homework...

Okinawa Christian School International calls it "one of the highlights of the high school year", because so many things happen and it's a chance for high schoolers to get together and have a break from school. This event is the high school Tokashiki camp, which ran for three days from September 29th to October 1st.
Camp was actually a bit different this year compared to the last two years, for the rules seemed more strict. Due to problems with bugs, the facilities that held us forbid any food to be brought into dorms, and we could not even eat in certain places where we were allowed to eat in last year. The High school hike was also very different, for people were organized into group. That was an idea that I found really unnecessary, personally. People even moved to different groups anyway so it didn't work out. Another thing that was different this year was the teacher hunt, which is an event that happens every year. That event was canceled this year, however, due to threat of thunder storms.
As for how I felt about camp, I was really glad that I went in the first place, because before it I really did not want to go. I'm really happy that the entire Junior class was present, and that we actually won some things as a class for once, (for victory is a rare thing for our class, it seems). We also watched the sunrise on the last day as a class. I absolutely despised the hike and I was not a fan of the beach, but I guess overall this year offered a pretty good camp.

Yeah we went to camp from Wednesday to Friday. Group Therapy was so excited for camp to come at the begginning of the week. The only things I wasn't really excited about was the ferry and the hike. The ferry be making my head feel like its twirling. The hike is just crazy with the heat and the up and downs. This year ferry ride still roughed me up and the hike was ok I guess. It was super hot. The only thing this year's camp was missing was Jonathan Melton. Last year's camp was my first and Jonathan's last and it was so fun along with Brandon S., that;s how the Amigo Trio devoloped and it was fun. I think that's why we were all excited for camp and Josh Davis was gone and he made camp fun last year too. My opinion camp wasn't all that this year because free time was shorter and too much rules and no judo room for me and warren to practice.

But with group therapy, it was ok and I think that's what matters. Group therap got mentioned on the last day with the big circle so it was cool. The food was still good as last time. It was hot in the dorms even witht the AC, I didn't feel it and neither did my dorm mates either, it was just hot in there. Camp was ok.

  5. From September 29, Wednesday till October 1, Friday was high school camp. It was at Tokashiki Island. This is my third year and next year it will be last camp for us. It will be so sad. This years camp went by fast and I don't really remember what we did. One thing I really liked was the beach, it was so beautiful. I also learned a lot of things during devotion and chapel.
In our dorm group, we were talking about why is there evil and sins. Ms.Hadley said that God didn't create them, He gave us a choice and we chose to sin. God knew that we would sin, but He wanted to show how much He loves us so He created us. Thats why if we sin and ask for forgiveness, He will forgive us. That is one thing I learned at camp. I wanted to know that so Im happy to hear the answer. Hai. I thought camp was pretty good.

  6. Jer B. here.

From Wednesday this past week, September 29th, until Friday, October 1st, was our high school camp. We went to Tokashiki island. We left from school by bus, then from the port took a fairy. That day after we arrived at where we would be staying, we had free time, games, dinner, and chapel. We were suppose to have a teacher hunt too but it was canceled due to the bad weather. The next day we went to the beach. we had to hike up and down hill quite a ways before we got there. we got to ride boats and swim. it was pretty fun. After we got back, we had dinner, chapel, and a bonfire with smores. The smores were really good. The last day was mostly just cleaning and getting ready to leave.
This was my first time, but I really had alot of fun at camp. I feel like i got to know the other people at OCSI better. I hope that next year will be even better.

Our high school went to camp last week from September 29, until October 1. We went to a small island off the coast of Okinawa called Tokashiki. When we got there we had an orientation. It was pretty boring cause i have heard it a lot of times. The weather got pretty bad during the night. There was a lot of thunder too. The teacher hunt got canceled because of the weather.
The next day we had to hike all the way to the beach. It took like tow hours to get there. I couldn't even swim when i got there because i had a cold. So that kind of ruined it for me, but I still had some fun. I got the opportunity to meet new people and make new friends. Hopefully for my last camp I wont be sick and it can be even better than all of the past camps that I have been to
