World Literature homework:

Monday:  study guide
Tuesday:  none
Wednesday:  paragraph reflection (research paper)
Thursday: 1-page response to the film version of Julius Caesar
Friday:  study for final; IR due Monday

American Literature homework:

Monday:  Read chapters 38-40.  Paragraph response:  how has Jim developed as a character?
Tuesday:  Read chapters 41-43.  Paragraph response.
Wednesday-Thursday:  study for test Friday.
Friday:  IR due Monday.  Begin studying for final exam.

British Literature homework:

Monday:  Read "Hamlet's Antic Disposition."  1/2 page response about whether you agree or disagree and why.
Tuesday:  none
Wednesday:  read Literature pp. 289-292, 464-466.  Complete one side of the worksheet for each set of pages (choose one poem from the first set of pages and one poem from the second set of pages)
Thursday:  Read Literature pp. 453-455.  Complete both sides of the worksheet (choose two of the three works by John Donne).
Friday:  Read pages 477-478.  Complete both sides of the worksheet (one for each poem).

Gospel of John homework:

Tuesday:  read textbook chapter 9 and do #1-5
Thursday:  handout pp. 169-174 #1-6 (subject to change)

World Literature homework:

Monday:  Read pp. 765-776.  Complete character chart (worksheet).
Tuesday:  Read pp. 778-783.  1/2 page summary.
Wednesday:  Read pp. 784-488.  1/2 page summary.
Thursday:  Read pp. 789-793.
Friday:  Write a paragraph about who you think is the tragic hero of Julius Caesar and why.

The unit test for Julius Caesar will be held next Tuesday.

American Literature:  The chapters you will need to read for each day are posted below, but further written assignments may be announced as the week progresses.

Monday:  Read chapters 23-25.  1/2 page response.  Worksheet (4-column chart)
Tuesday:  Read chapters 26-28.
Wednesday:  Read chapters 29-31.
Thursday:  Read chapters 32-34.
Friday:  Read chapters 35-37.

British Literature homework:

Monday:  Read Act 4, Scenes 4-5.  Journal.
Tuesday:  Read Act 5, Scene 1.  Journal.
Wednesday:  Read Act 5, Scene 2.  Journal.
Thursday:  Study for test.

The test for Hamlet is tentatively scheduled for Friday but may be moved back to Monday or Tuesday of next week if necessary.

Thursday:  Handout pp. 139-144 #1-11.  Read and summarize p. 146 in a paragraph
Friday: Study guide.

World Literature homework:

Monday:  Study guide.
Tuesday: Read Literature pp. 683-692:  summarize background information and write predictions about the play based on what you read.
Wednesday:  Vocabulary worksheet.
Thursday:  Read pp. 693-698.  worksheet (Act 1 Scenes 1-2).
Friday:  Read pp. 699-711.  Write down questions and comments as you read.

American Literature homework:

Monday:  Study for test.  Worksheet:  "I think this means . . ." questions only.
Tuesday: Finish worksheet (paragraph response).
Wednesday:  none
Thursday:  Read “The Life of Mark Twain” and chapters 1-3.  Vocabulary.
Friday:  Read chapters 4-6.  ½ page reaction:  What was it like for Huck living with his father?  What would you do if you were in this situation?

British Literature homework:

Monday:  Finish reading scene 4.  Journal.  Begin studying: test on Hamlet, Act I, will be this Thursday.
Tuesday:  Finish reading scene 5.  Journal.  Study literary elements, vocabulary, plot of Act 1.
